Cardiac Procedures
Our experienced cardiology team performs a wide range of advanced cardiac procedures to diagnose, treat, and manage heart rhythm disorders and structural heart conditions. All procedures are tailored to your specific health needs and performed with the highest standards of safety and care.
Electrical and Chemical Cardioversion
These procedures are used to restore a normal heart rhythm in patients with atrial fibrillation or other arrhythmias.
- Electrical cardioversion involves a controlled shock delivered to the heart under sedation.
- Chemical cardioversion uses antiarrhythmic medications to reset the rhythm.

Loop Recorder Implantation/Explanation
A small, implantable device that continuously monitors heart rhythms over months or years.
- Helps detect unexplained fainting, palpitations, or intermittent arrhythmias.
- Easily removed once monitoring is complete or no longer needed.
Transesophageal Echocardiography (TEE)
An ultrasound test performed through the esophagus to obtain detailed images of the heart.
- Ideal for detecting blood clots, valve disease, and infections inside the heart.
- Offers clearer imaging than traditional echocardiography.

Pacemaker Implantation
Implanted to treat slow or irregular heart rhythms. We offer:
- Left Bundle Branch Area Pacing (LBBAP): A physiologic pacing technique that preserves natural heart activation.
- Leadless Pacemakers: Small, wireless devices inserted directly into the heart.
- Bi-Ventricular Pacemakers (CRT): Improve heart function in patients with heart failure.
Implantable Cardioverter-Defibrillators (ICDs)
These devices monitor your heart rhythm and deliver a life-saving shock if a dangerous arrhythmia is detected.
- Options include Transvenous ICD, Subcutaneous ICD (S-ICD), Extravascular ICD (E-ICD), and Bi-Ventricular ICD (CRT-D).
- Recommended for patients at high risk of sudden cardiac arrest.

Catheter Ablation of Arrhythmias
A minimally invasive treatment that destroys small areas of heart tissue causing abnormal rhythms.
- Effective for atrial fibrillation, supraventricular tachycardia (SVT), ventricular tachycardia (VT), and frequent PVCs.
- Performed using radiofrequency (thermal) or cryoablation (non-thermal) technologies.
Lead Extraction
Safely removes old or malfunctioning leads from pacemakers or defibrillators.
- Often necessary due to infection, lead damage, or device upgrade.
- Performed using specialized extraction tools under imaging guidance.

Left Atrial Appendage Occlusion (LAAO) Device
Safely removes old or malfunctioning leads from pacemakers or defibrillators.
- A small device is implanted to seal off the left atrial appendage, where clots tend to form.
- Minimally invasive and typically done as an outpatient procedure.
Vein Ablation Procedures
Minimally invasive treatments for varicose veins and chronic venous insufficiency.
- Uses laser or radiofrequency energy to close faulty veins.
- Helps relieve leg pain, swelling, and improve circulation with minimal downtime.

Having newly experienced cardiac issues, I asked a friend to recommend a cardiac specialist, and Dr. Kani was first and only on her list. As I walked up to the office and was greeted by beautiful flowers, I knew I was in the right place. Each person that performed tests was thorough, kind, and helpful.
